An Extract from the Field May 1999
"From the biggest trout you'll ever catch to some of the smallest.
Get that big fish fixation out of your head and the East Lyn will flow through
the heaven of your dreams. It trips off the heights of Exmoor, and at a village called Brendon starts its short seaward gallop through a sheltered gorge. You'll need a short fly rod, light line, a Beacon Beige, Partridge and orange and lightning reflexes; Lyn Trout are free rising and quicker than Clint Eastwood. If it rains, wait a few hours for the river to clear and you'll have a good a chance at a bright Grilse as anywhere in the South West, though you'll need a short spinning rod and a tiny Mepps. Five year declared average catch; 200 salmon approx."
